This file explains how to use a new Coach Pro 4.0 Add-On Word Tool, the Frequency List Tool. This Add-On Word Tool is an extension to Coach Pro. It provides additional features to Coach Pro.
Installing the Frequency List Tool
To use the Frequency List Tool, place it in the Add-On Word Tools folder in your Coach Preferences folder. If you are using System 6, the Coach Preferences folder is in your System Folder. If you are using System 7, the Coach Preferences folder is in the Preferences folder in your System folder. When you restart your computer with Coach Pro active, the tool will be available.
Using the Frequency List Tool
The Frequency List Tool provides the Frequency List option of the Coach Pro menu's Selection Tools submenu. This option displays a list of the number of occurrences of each word in your document.
To use the Frequency List option:
1. Select the text whose words you want to analyze for frequency.
2. From the Coach Pro menu, choose Selection Tools: Frequency List.
The Word Frequency Analysis dialog box appears.
The scrolling list in the center of the dialog box lists the words in the selection, from the most frequently used to the least frequently used. The number of occurrences of each word appears next to the word. Scroll through this list to view all the words.
You can copy selected words in the scrolling list to the Clipboard. To do so, select a word in the scrolling list by clicking it; to select multiple words, hold down the Shift key and click them. Next, Click Copy or press Command-C to copy the words to the Clipboard. You can then paste the words into a document.
When you finish, click Done or press Command-period to close the dialog box.
